We understand that choosing the right care for your loved one involves many considerations. Below you'll find answers to the questions families most commonly ask about our comprehensive medication management and proactive care coordination services. If you don't see your question answered here, we'd love to hear from you directly.
1
What makes Equipped Healthcare Solutions different from home health nursing?
While home health agencies provide skilled nursing care ordered by a physician for specific medical conditions, Equipped Healthcare Solutions offers comprehensive medication management and proactive care coordination that goes beyond traditional home health services. We don't just visit—we actively coordinate with all your healthcare providers, advocate on your behalf with pharmacies and doctors, and provide ongoing education and support.
Our signature immunity-focused approach and personalized medication safety protocols are designed to prevent hospitalizations before they happen, not just respond to medical orders. We become a trusted partner in your healthcare journey, offering the kind of thorough, attentive care that today's fast-paced medical system often can't provide.
2
Do I need a doctor's order to use your services?
No! Our services do not require a physician's order. We work as an independent nursing resource that complements your existing medical care, giving you the freedom to access expert medication management whenever you need it. However, we do coordinate closely with your physicians and healthcare team to ensure everyone is on the same page about your medications and health status.
Think of us as your personal healthcare navigator and medication safety expert—someone who's always in your corner, helping you make sense of complex medical information and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.
3
Will my insurance cover these services?
Currently, our services are private pay and not typically covered by traditional health insurance or Medicare. However, many clients find that preventing even one hospitalization (average cost $13,000 or more) makes our services incredibly cost-effective. The peace of mind alone is invaluable to families who've watched their loved ones struggle with medication confusion or preventable health crises.
Some clients have successfully used Health Savings Accounts (HSA) or Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) to pay for our services. We're happy to provide detailed receipts and documentation for your records, and we'll work with you to find a service tier that fits your budget while meeting your care needs.
4
I live far away from my aging parent. How can you help me?
Distance care coordination is one of our specialties! We become your "eyes and ears" locally, providing regular check-ins, attending medical appointments (in-person or virtually), and keeping you updated with detailed reports. Many adult children feel overwhelmed trying to manage their parent's care from another city or state, juggling phone calls with doctors, worrying about missed medications, and wondering if their loved one is truly okay.
We handle the day-to-day coordination, catch issues early before they become emergencies, and communicate everything clearly to you so you can have peace of mind knowing your loved one has professional support nearby. You'll finally be able to focus on being a loving family member instead of an exhausted, long-distance case manager.
5
What happens during the monthly nurse visits?
Each monthly visit is tailored to your tier level, but typically includes comprehensive medication review and reconciliation, vital signs monitoring (blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen levels, weight, and more), assessment of any new symptoms or concerns, medication adherence check, review of upcoming appointments, and education on managing your specific conditions.
For our Proactive and Comprehensive Care clients, visits are more in-depth and include immune system evaluations and comprehensive health assessments. We also use this time to answer questions, adjust protocols as needed, and ensure you feel confident and supported. These aren't rushed visits—we take the time you deserve.
6
What is your "immunity signature" and why does it matter?
Many medications can weaken or affect your immune system, making you more vulnerable to infections, illnesses, and complications that can lead to hospitalizations. Our immunity signature means we specifically assess how your medications impact your immune function and create personalized protocols to optimize your body's natural defenses.
This includes supplement recommendations (with your doctor's approval), nutrition guidance, lifestyle strategies, and seasonal preparation for cold and flu season. We've found that clients who actively support their immune health alongside proper medication management stay healthier, avoid more hospitalizations, and recover faster when they do get sick. It's a proactive approach that honors your body's innate healing capacity.
7
Do you offer virtual services for clients outside of South Carolina?
Yes! As a registered nurse licensed in 43 states through the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC), we can provide virtual services to clients across most of the United States. Our virtual care includes comprehensive medication reviews, telehealth check-ins, care coordination with your local providers, family education sessions, and all of our immunity optimization protocols—everything except in-person home visits.
Many clients find our virtual services just as effective, especially when combined with local pharmacy support and coordination with their existing healthcare team. Contact us to confirm we're licensed in your state and discuss how virtual care can work for your specific situation. Distance doesn't have to be a barrier to exceptional care.
8
Can you help if my loved one takes 10+ medications from multiple doctors?
Absolutely—this is exactly what we specialize in! When seniors see multiple specialists (cardiologist, endocrinologist, neurologist, rheumatologist, and more), each prescribing different medications, dangerous interactions and duplications can easily occur. No single doctor has the complete picture, and pharmacies often don't catch everything.
We review ALL medications from ALL providers, identify potential problems, coordinate between doctors to ensure everyone knows what's prescribed, and create a master medication schedule that's safe and easy to follow. Many families tell us this comprehensive medication reconciliation alone has been life-changing and potentially life-saving. We bring order to chaos and safety to complexity.
Still Have Questions?
We're here to help you navigate your options and find the right level of support for your unique situation. Every family's needs are different, and we take the time to understand yours.
